What "one end product" means
One licence covers one end product — one website, one application, one deployed client project. Two websites need two licences, even if they belong to the same client and even if the code is identical. A staging or development copy of the same end product is not a second end product.
What you may do
- Install and run the item in one end product.
- Modify the source code however you like for that end product.
- Build it into a project you deliver to a client, provided the client's project is the one end product and you tell them the licence terms.
- Keep using the version you bought indefinitely, including after any support or update period ends.
What you may not do
- Resell, sublicense, rent, lease or redistribute the source code, in whole or in part, modified or not.
- Publish it anywhere others can obtain it — including public repositories, file hosts, "nulled" sites or client handovers that amount to redistribution.
- Share your purchase code, or use one purchase code across multiple end products.
- Include it in a template, theme, plugin or toolkit that you then sell — that is redistribution, not use.
- Remove or obscure copyright notices, or claim authorship.
Purchase codes and activation
Every purchase issues a unique code in the form
SMKT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Some items require that code to be activated against
a domain, package name or server before they run; the item's page says so if it does.
Items that do not require activation simply work — nothing is forced on them.
Where activation applies, each licence has a number of activation slots. Moving to a new domain is a matter of deactivating the old installation from your licence page, which frees the slot immediately.
Support and updates
Each item states how long author support lasts and whether updates are included. These are separate from the licence itself: when they end, the licence does not. You keep permanent access to the version you bought, and newer releases published after your update window closes are shown as locked rather than taken away.
If an item is withdrawn from sale
Authors may stop selling an item at any time, and we may remove one from the storefront. Neither affects what you already bought: your licence, your downloads and your remaining support and update entitlement continue, and the author is still obliged to honour them.
The single exception is a takedown — where we find that an item contains malware, infringes someone's copyright, or was not the author's to sell. In that case downloads stop for everyone, because continuing to distribute the files would be unsafe or unlawful. If that happens to something you paid for, contact support: a takedown that is our fault or the author's is a refund case.
Third-party components
Items may bundle open-source libraries under their own licences (MIT, Apache, GPL and so on). Those licences continue to govern those components, and authors are required to disclose them. Where a bundled component's licence conflicts with this policy, the component's own licence prevails for that component.
If a licence is breached
We may revoke a licence, without refund, for redistribution, code sharing or activation abuse. Revocation ends your right to use the item. Serious or repeated breaches may also be pursued by the author directly — copyright in the item belongs to them, not to us.
